You should only go directly to Accident & Emergency in cases of real emergency, such as severe chest pain or breathlessness, loss of consciousness, blood loss or a serious accident. Please do not attend the accident and emergency department when the practice is open.

Using accident and emergency departments for non-urgent conditions is not the best use of NHS resources and listed below are other options that you may not already know about to assist you in accessing medical care here at the Nightingale Practice.

111 online is a fast and convenient alternative to the 111 phone service and provides an option for people who want to access 111 digitally. 

Your needs will be assessed and you will be given advice about whether you need:

• Treat yourself at home
• Go to a Primary Care Centre

If you need face to face medical attention you may be asked to attend a Primary Care Centre.
